Refer patients to LEAP for free energy advice

LEAP is an energy and money saving service designed to help people keep warm during the colder months and reduce their energy bills without costing them any money.

You can refer your patient’s families by completing this application form. If you are referring a ventilated paediatric patient, please add ‘LTV’ to the ‘Referrer Organisation’ section, alongside your referring centre’s name (e.g., Hospital/Team/Service). You do not need to select a ‘partner organisation’.

After the referral, a LEAP advisor will contact the person you’ve referred to confirm eligibility and arrange for a home energy call (this may be over the phone or an in-person visit, depending on what is available in the patient’s area). During this call, a qualified energy advisor can provide energy saving advice, help with energy switching and assess your patient’s family’s eligibility for insulation and other larger energy efficiency measures. They will also assess your patient’s family’s personal situation for further assistance and support.

Please see the eligibility criteria for referring here, and obtain your patient’s family’s consent before referring. The LEAP privacy policy is available on this page.

If your patients and families are concerned about energy costs during the winter, please also see our Winter Welfare Resources Hub for more useful information.
