This document sets out a series of practical, evidence-informed recommendations for the effective management of acute pain in children across the network. Developed collaboratively by multidisciplinary stakeholders, these recommendations aim to support the delivery of timely, safe, and equitable pain management for all paediatric patients, regardless of setting.

The guidance covers core principles of acute pain assessment and treatment, pathways of care, workforce considerations, education and training needs, and the use of clinical tools and resources.
